About
Carlo trains astronauts for a living. He is a Ground Segment, Payload and Robotic instructor at the European Space Agency's European Astronaut Centre — the Columbus module you see in photographs of ISS training is where he works — and he is also involved in Mission Control operations and space experiments.
He also leads XR initiatives and innovation at ALTEC, and whenever he can he contributes to STEM outreach with students and professionals.
At Stardust he is the trainer on the Astronaut Foundations Program: three weeks on the mindset, consistency and judgement that come before the hardware. He reads every trainee's journal himself and runs all three live sessions.
