Who you'll hear from
The ICESCO 5th International Model Satellite competition, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. A training workshop and aerospace symposium, themed "Building Tomorrow's Global Workforce".
WHAT A CANSAT IS
A satellite that fits in a drinks can. You build the whole thing, power, sensors, radio and recovery, then it is dropped and has to work on the way down. At this edition the drops run from 200 metres by drone up to 30 kilometres by rocket.
It is the cheapest honest way to do a real space mission: everything a full satellite has to get right, at a scale a student team can actually build.
WHO IT IS FOR
Student teams from ICESCO's 53 member states and beyond. Stardust members are welcome to enter and we have asked the organisers for the entry timeline and eligibility rules.
HOW TO REGISTER
We are waiting on ICESCO for the registration route and deadline. Follow this event and we will post it here the moment we have it. If you are thinking of entering, start forming a team now: eight days in Tashkent comes round faster than a build does.
